Description:

I would like to meet like-minded mothers in the Martin PSL areas for playdates and friendship. Being a feminist atheist in S. Florida can be kind of isolating, but I know I am not alone! This country was founded on the belief that civil liberties must be protected and fought for, not religous doctrine as many would like to think.

Are you a spiritual, but fun Catholic in the Stuart area?  Would love to start a Catholic homeschooling/playdate group to connect like-minded moms, dads and families.  Led by a dynamic team of parents involved in education and ministry.  We are not your typical stuffy Catholics!

This is a new group, but here is my vision:
This is an excellent opportunity to meet with other stay-at-home moms(part time working moms welcome too) and their families who have conservative views and believe in the Judeo-Christian values America was founded on.

But, more importantly this is a place, to let go of your worries and laugh & have fun with like-minded women. We will plan several activities through out the week with our young children and have a "mom's only" night once a mo.

If you are interested in meeting people that you & your children can share a special friendship with, a group full of fun and activities, a place where you can let your hair down, but still be true to your values? YOU will love our group.

Description:

I've created this group in hopes to share car seat safety w other new & seasoned parents.  On March 21, 2011 the AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) updated their *guidelines* for rear facing your infant/toddler.  Their new recommendations is for your child to remain Rear Facing until TWO YEARS OLD, yes 2yrs old!!

So many parents are clueless when it comes to car seat safety.  I've personally stood 'shock-n-awe' at parents who forward face their NINE month old babies.  I have also been dumbfounded by parents putting their  2yr olds in backless boosters.

Please feel free to post photos of your little one(s) in the car seats, especially your older child(ren) who are still rear facing!

*In a new policy published in the April 2011 issue of Pediatrics (published online March 21), the AAP advises parents to keep their toddlers in rear-facing car seats until age 2, or until they reach the maximum height and weight for their seat. It also advises that most children will need to ride in a belt-positioning booster seat until they have reached 4 feet 9 inches tall and are between 8 and 12 years of age.

Children should transition from a rear-facing seat to a forward-facing seat with a harness, until they reach the maximum weight or height for that seat. Then a booster will make sure the vehicle’s lap-and-shoulder belt fit properly. The shoulder belt should lie across the middle of the chest and shoulder, not near the neck or face. The lap belt should fit low and snug on the hips and upper thighs, not across the belly. Most children will need a booster seat until they have reached 4 feet 9 inches tall and are between 8 and 12 years old.*
